He smelled.... What did he smell? That most certainly was not a lemon. Sewers have some of the most foul smelling odors. Poor Zevi's sensitive wolf nose couldn't take it. Maybe going after those children wasn't such a good idea. It was only some lemon after all. He'd live if he didn't have a lemon to gnaw on. Zevi trotted off, making up his mind about not caring anymore for his stolen lemons.

The kids cheered happily once they sensed the danger pass. The two kids had rejoined another dozen. All of them were around age 12 or younger. The oldest person there looked about 14. And there was something about her. The scent of the sewer was a good cover, and her sensitive nose had grown used to it's odor......

OOC: Darn it Zevi, go get your freakin lemons back! ><
IC: "I'll need to steal some more later..." Zevi talked to himself as he continued through the alleyways, trying to get back to the market street. Going around as wolf might not be best though... There really was nothing else for Zevi to do here at the market. Most of the people were now leaving, so it was less crowded. And yet, it was very possible that the stall owner that Zevi had stole the lemons from would be guarding his stall with the utmost efficiency. Ah well.

The child troop beneath Zevi were sitting in a circle, shareing their bounty. Bread, lemons, more lemons, lemons, moldy bread, and a dead rat. Mmmm yummy. It was the oldest one who took the rat, letting the younger kids chow down on some somewhat edible food. She sighed as she watched over her pack of kids. She looked after them, and their little pickpocketing ways. The two siblings stretched and yawned. They had a busy lemon-filled day. Two lemons remained, and they each got to keep them.
ooc: yay for abandoned children!!

Sorrou looked around the street with distaste. There were too many people here, and she couldn't see who she was looking for anywhere... Suddenly, she ran off, weaving through the people. Sorrou was sick of the town. Nothing but bad things happened here. She would be better off somewhere else.
ooc: Sorry for leaving the thread so soon after joining it, but things just weren't working out for poor lonely Sorrou! XDD

Sticking around, Zevi padded around the street, trying to look like a cheerful pet dog enjoying the smells of the market. There was a certain bounce in his step that conveyed the opposite of what Zevi was truly thinking. He didn't want to stay around here any longer, but he felt the need to. Plus, if his nose was correct, he could smell the faint, distant scent of another wolf. If this smell was the wolf he saw before, or it if was an entirely new wolf, Zevi didn't know. All he cared about really, was staying in the market to see if he could meet this wolf.
Looking like the common dog, Zevi paused at the meat stalls to sniff around. Though a lemon would have been nice, he passed over the closely guarded stand containing lemons. The previous vendor was no where to be seen, but Zevi didn't want to take any chances. For all he knew, the current vendor could have received a description of the dog that stole the lemons from before.

Suddenly, the manhole cover lifted again. Three pairs of beedy eyes peered around, before a bunch of little kids came out. They all went their seperate ways, and acted like cute, innocent little children. They traveled in groups of two or three, picking pockets by distracting and strikeing. The two siblings were together again, looking for their next target. They didn't recognize Zevi as a wolf....

A familiar smell was in the air... Lemons? Where were they coming from...? No wait, it was just a faint trace of lemons, stuck to little human children. Trace.. of lemons? What? It felt like Zevi was hit with a bullet; he realized that those two children where the ones that stole his lemons before! Those dirty dastards! Zevi wanted his lemons back, now that the chance presented itself.
But wait, taking a detour from his quest for Paradise? He could do that, he needed to get to Paradise.. He wanted to get to Paradise. This was a hard choice. He could either try to get his lemons back here and now, or ignore them and continue on to Paradise. No... Zevi decided to try and get the children to give back his lemons, by force if needed be.
In his wolf form, Zevi trotted up to the kids, wanting to gain trust with the children first. Then he would make his move, and attempt to get his lemons back. All this for just a few lemons? It was so worth it.

The two kids saw the wolf, and the girl smiled. "Oh wow! lookit how big he is!" She said as she pointed. The boy however was much more ...well, freaked out. "oh geez!" he yelped as he leapt backwards. "That thing is huge! come-on, we gotta get away from it!" He said quivering. "Oh but I'm sure he's fine" the little girl said as she reached her hand out to pat the 'dog' "stop!" The boy said as he grabbed his sister, and pulled her away. He was terrified...but then again, he was afraid of chihuahuas.....

Zevi hated being called a dog, but he literally grinned and bore it. His canine mouth opened to reveal sharp, white teeth, yet he had a smile in his wolf face. Zevi's tongue lolled out of his mouth, as he stood there, panting. He wanted the girl to pet him, so Zevi sidled up closer to the child, looking as friendly as an over-sized dog could get. In his mind however, was a totally different atmosphere. He was already plotting his plan. Should he kill the children after they lead him to the lemons? Should he take the girl hostage, seeing as her brother was the more likely one to freak out and do whatever it took to get his sister back. Even if it meant giving up the lemons. Zevi almost laughed. Wow, he was evil today.

Suddenly, a loud call came from the shadows of the alley. It was that leader again, the young teenage girl. "HEY! Mika, Mai...get away from that...animal" She called out to them. Her form was covered in shadow, but her glare still reached the wolf. The two kids immediately obeyed, and scurried off back to 'work'. The girl however remained..... She stared at Zevi....of course, he could see what she REALLY was......
