Saya walked through the city in the shadows so she wouldn't be mistaken for anything but a dog in the dark. The city smelled vile with rotten foods and car exhaust, but she kept walking trying to find what she was searching for. Well thier you are, she thought as she sniffed the ground. Other wolves had been there and not to long ago either. This was a good sign, it smelled like more than one was in this city but she wasn't for sure. She didn't stop for long there and she soon continued on into the city. A few humans were here and their but none payed attention to her. She was nothing but a shadow in the dark to them, oh but was she really so much more than they could imagine. She didn't perticularly like the city food, it wasnt the same as enjoying a fresh kill yourself. But she ate the few bits of unspoiled garbage she could find.

A tall boy walked through the streets too, hands in the pockets of his long coat, looking down. He had just outrun a group of men, who had tried to capture and sell him. They had already tried to do that to his friends a few days ago, and that had ended up with him purposely crashing a truck in the middle of the road. Getting away from the men was child's play, they were so dumb. If you hadn't guessed, yes, he was a wolf. He glanced around. No-one out of the ordinary, although he could see a dog-like form in the shadows. There was a loud shout, and a fist fell across his back. Turning, he saw the gang of men he had just outrun. Four of them were left. He wheeled around, kicking one in the stomach, and then the face, knocking him out. Another lunged, trying to stab him with a knife. Dodging to the side, Daryl kicked the knife out of his hand, then fell to the floor as another leapt at him, trying to get him a headlock, and succeeding. He threw the man over his shoulder and to the ground, then turned to the other two. One was pointing a rifle at him, the other had grabbed his knife from the ground. A hand delved into the jacket pocket, and Daryl drew a sleek pistol, firing twice. Both men fell to the ground, dead. He slipped it back into his jacket, and then proceeded as if nothing had happened.

Saya turned to see someone walking in the distance, it looked like a man but it smelled like a wolf. She didn't know if this was a killer or wolves or a wolf itself. She stayed cautious following behind him far enough away to not be heard. All of assuden a few man came out of the shadows cornering him. She watched in delight as he killed off the men one by one. But she watched as he used man weapons, not those of a wolf. She still wasn't postitive on what he was but he could lead her to the wolves maybe. And when her curiousity got the better of her she started following him as he left the scene unharmed. Hopefully he can lead me to the wolves of, the city, if he is human, I am in trouble , she thought following him.

Daryl glanced over his shoulder, there was a large dog following him. Well, it looked kinda like a dog, but he recognized it as a wolf. He turned back, striding along. Suddenly, the human figure faded. A large, jet black wolf, rippling with muscle, walked in his place. There was a large gash in his shoulder, which was crusted the deep brown of dried blood. He had had it for a few days, after it had been left by a knife in a fight with a group of black market animal traders.

Saya followed the unknown creature until all of assuden he faded into a wolf. She made a low growl at first seeing the large black wolf approach he had large muscles and a healing scar. With her smaller form she felt a little uneasy she didn't know wheather he was friend or foe, many wolves has turned against eachother in these new times. She looked at him and put her ears back and her tail low, trying to signal that she didn't mean any harm. She just wanted to talk to him atleast if not more. I am sorry if I have invaded your territory, I thought I smelled wolves. And they are hard to come by now a days.

Daryl smiled. His rough appearance often had that effect. "Please, do not be afraid of me. This is not my territory alone, it is that of anyone who comes here. Pity the humans don't see it that way. And you would have smelt wolves, you are facing one right now for a start, and there are four others in this city that I know of."

Saya started to calm down after he spoke, he was nicer than most wolves she had met in her life. So there are others? How do you survive in a city like this, with so many of you.. don't you fear the humans? She remember that he did just take down a few easily but in a big group humans were known to be able to kill wolves with their weapons. She thought again, And why do you use the weapons of humans?

"In a human form, you can't use your natural abilities, they aren't there. And human bodies have certain advantages over wolf bodies. It's the main way we survive. Blend by appearing human. Of course, some can see our true forms even then. That's really when trouble starts. Men don't often try to kill wolves, they try to capture them and sell them on the black market. A friend of mine, a pup, got captured only a few days ago. We managed to spring her out though."

Saya was surprised that humans were not capturing and selling wolves rather than killing them. I don't like being in human form, she stated plainly. So why are these humans selling us, they usually try to kill us on sight.. She guessed the wolves in this city worked together and cared for eachother. Which wasn't normal to her from her experiences.

"We fetch a price. Wolves are often used to make a lot of money in the dog fighting rings. Again, one of my friends ended up there. Me and another wolf who was undercover there had to team up to get her out. The people here are greedy idiots, they'll do anything fo a large sum of money. But, we stick together, and we do ok. Follow me, there'll be more humans on the way to help the ones who attacked me. Unfortunately, they stick together too." The black form turned, and began to run down the alley, his powerful muscles rippling as he went.

"Dog fighting rings?" she thought. They know put us against meer dogs to fight. This made Saya growl at the thought of such things. As the male told her to follow him, she wasnt sure what to do, she didn't want to stray from her quest. But for some reason she was drawn to him, like she needed him. She decided to follow her instinct and go after him, she started running as well as fast as her legs could go until she caught up with him. She wondered where they would go. "Where are we going then?" She said turning her head towards him as she strode.

He glanced to the side as she came up alongside him, then turned his focus back to the alletway ahead. Daryl considered, then turned his head to her. There was really only one answer he could give, for there was no explanation to where they went. "Wherever the call of Paradise leads."

Saya closed her eyes, "Paradise", she thought again. This was the place where she wanted to go and these wolves did to, if she joined them they could all go together. And maybe she would finally reach this place that she only could dream about. "Don't we all want to go to paradise," She said to the wolf sadly. "If only we could find it."

Daryl vaulted a trash can, and then continued, at a slower pace now. "We will all go to Paradise whenst comes the end of our lives, for Paradise is the life beyond death." He recited, as if reading a poem. This phrase came from his puphood, a saying of his father. He wasn't quite sure if he believed it, but he often brought it out whenever the subject of Paradise was mentioned. It was one of the few things he knew of his long-dead father, no matter how small it was, it was important to him.

Saya looked at him, her view of paradise wasn't the same as his, but that was fine to her. There was nobody who did go to paradise and came back. She followed closely behind him looking around the alley. It was a filthy place, trash was littered everywhere. She now wished she was back in the forest instead of this dump.
