"I'll check out the other building then," Ranulf replied. His ears flattened against his head, and he lowered his body closer to the ground as he made his way down the sand dune. It was slow going, as one wrong step, and he would roll right down... Even though rolling would be faster.
Ranulf also kept his ears and nose at the ready, wary of anything that would be a threat.

Wahya follows him as he slides down the dune, as he reaches the bottom he feels something different. He looks to the ground and shifts his paw around, under the sand it was like a solid floor and the air, it was cooler.
Wahya looks back up as he walks toward the building, his ear's perked as he draws closer. He stops in front of it and takes a deep breath, he leaps to one of the windows and enters through it.
Inside was a dark room, the only light was from outside the windows, there was a exit as well.

As Wahya went off one way, Ranulf went for the other building. The ground beneath his paws was oddly enough cool... He welcomed the cold though, and didn't complain. As he stalked off, he felt a bit weird... The buildings were making him feel uncomfortable. Ranulf padded into the upright one and sniffed the air. There was the heavy scent of sand, which irritated his nose, and Ranulf sneezed.

Wahya starts to walk toward the door and his ear twitches, he looks to the window for a second he ignores it. He looks back in front of him as he slowly walks through the door, as he pops his head out he notices that there was stairs, but they had been destroyed by something.
Wahya turns back into the room and walks to one of the windows, he looks out to the endless sand that stretched out then to the other building. This place seems good enough I guess, we will be able to see others from a good distance here.
Wahya leaps out of the window, landing next to the building. He looks around waiting for Ranulf.

As Ranulf took a little self-tour around the place, he analyzed it. It was well sheltered, so they could stay the night... It was also good defense from the outside. An inside attack, however, was a different matter. The complexity of the place allowed for someone to easily sneak up on the wolves, provided that they were already inside the the structures anyway...
Ranulf was satisfied with the place - he would feel rather safe staying here. He walked out of the building, only pausing to take a look back at it, before going off to where Wahya was waiting for him. "It's fine to me. How'd the other building look?" he asked.

"Looked fine on the level I jumped up to, the stairs are destroyed and a good view over the land so that we could see oncoming threats. The room is very dark and only source of light is the windows, but I would prefer it." Wahya glances over his shoulder to the level of the window he jumped in.
He looks back to Ranulf, "What about you? How did the other building look?"

"Dark and cold," he said simply. "It was much like the one you looked at. The stairs, I didn't see any. They probably were destroyed beyond recognition." Ranulf looks up. A good amount of time had passed since then.. "So we're staying then?" Ranulf said. He already knew the answer, but wanted a confirmation of it. It was an ideal place to stay too - dark and isolated out in the desert. While water would have been prefered, he'd make do with what he had at the moment.

Wahya motions toward the tilting building, "I say in there, at least there we have a good view over the stretching sand." Wahya starts to think, What would be out here any ways, it is so dead out here there could not be anything out here alive.

"I'll stay outside... I'll keep watch," Ranulf offered. He still felt weird in this place, and he might have felt better if he was able to stay outside. He would, at a moments notice, jump up at awaken Wahya if he smelled trouble. "I'll stay out of sight." Ranulf trotted off to a little overhanging part of a ruined building. He'd sleep under this for the night.

"Alright, I will momentarily keep a eye out as well." Wahya turns and starts to walk toward the building, he looks over his shoulder toward Ranulf as he walks, Do not worry, I will be awake....
Wahya looks back in front of him and leaps to the room, as he lands in he sits near the window so that he could look out and listen for anything to come along. He glances down to where Ranulf was walking to.

Ranulf made himself snug under the little overhang. The dark colors of his fur melded into the shadows of the overhang, and Ranulf felt more secure. He laid down, resting his head on his front paws, and tried to fall into a quick sleep mode. He didn't want to sleep too deeply, for fear of not noticing any danger until it was too late.
From this position, Ranulf watched the sun in the sky as it very slowly sank lower.

Wahya walks back into the room and sits down in the center, he bows his head as he closes his eyes with ears perked. His ear twitches a little every now and then as he listens to the wind blow in the room.
This place... it is quiet.. but for how long, this world is against us..
Wahya feels the temperature drop as the sun falls in the horizon, the room gets darker and he seems to fade with it.

Ranulf was on the brink of falling asleep, when a loud noise woke him up. It sounded like a motor of a car, or truck... Ranulf instantly stood up and perked his ears toward the source of the noise. He could hear the laughter of men from underneath the roar of the truck's motor. Ranulf slunk farther back under the overhang, and watched as the truck drove into the ruins of the buildings.
It slowed to a stop, and the five men, that Ranulf could see through the open windows, climbed out, all laughing about something. Ranulf didn't act, but waited to see what they would do.

Wahya's ears perk to the new sound, he opens his eyes as he looks to the window. He slowly walks to the window and sticks to the wall as he peaks out to see what it was, he saw the men and their truck.
What are they doing here.... why would they come all the way out here...
Wahya looks in the direction he last saw Ranulf, I hope they do not see him.

Ranulf lifted his lips in a snarl, but still made no noise. He wondered why those humans were here... They were far out in the desert, and Ranulf was sure that no one had followed them. Quickly, Ranulf cast a glance over to the building where Wahya was, but couldn't see him. In his thoughts of self interest, Ranulf analyzed the situation... He could easily take out one man before the rest acted, and if Wahya jumped at the chance too, then two would be taken down.
While in his thoughts, Ranulf missed noticing that the men had started to explore the more distant parts of these ruins. Ranulf took the moment to dash out from under his little alcove, and into the building where Wahya sat. "Wahya... Wahya..." Ranulf quietly called.
