Making some vague hand gestures, the leader signaled for the gang to pile into the truck. He, in turn, climbed into the drivers seat. Leaning on the steering wheel with his elbows, the leader watched and waited for Wayha.
---
Ranulf heard a whistle, in what sounded like Wahya's voice. Humph. If he was calling Ranulf, he's have to try harder than that.. But Ranulf mentally reprimanded himself, knowing that if they wanted to get out of this desert, he would have to go along with Wahya's plan, whatever it was. Ranulf prepared himself, then trotted out, feigning the appearance of a larger than normal dog, but still quite lovable. He bounded up to where Wahya was, his tail wagging like mad. Letting out a bark, Ranulf added to the effect.
"Damn that's a huge dog you have there..." one member remarked. And it was true, Ranulf was huge... A little too big for a dog. The leader was suspicious. It was odd enough that they traveled out here themselves.. Being so far away from any town, and he was alone too. Except for that dog, if you could call it a dog. The leader's eyes narrowed as he watched the show.

Wahya watches as they pile in the truck, and glances to the leader again. Wahya turns to the sound of steps behind him, he winks at Ranulf as he comes up with a wagging tail and a bark. He whispers so that on Ranulf can hear him, "I know this is degrading, but I will return the favor."
Wahya feels a cold shiver down his back when he hears the comment of the man, he places his hand behind his head and closes his eyes with a chuckle as he turns around toward the truck.
"Yeah, he is larger than most dogs, but I guess that is my part to blame. I feed him enough to make sure he is healthy and strong for when we go out on walks like this."

(( Lazy and Late... not a good combo :B ))
"Can a dog really get that big just by feeding him too much?" one of the gang members muttered to himself.
The leader person nudged the talker with a sharp jab of his elbow, and leaned over to whisper a few things into his ear. Even with his enhanced hearing, Ranulf couldn't pick up any full, complete words, but a few strong syllables such as st and l... But other than that, the rest was a muted silence. How did they manage to talk so softly, so soft that a trained ear couldn't hear?
Despite this, Ranulf felt uneasy. With Wahya having to keep his human illusion up to fool the group, Ranulf would be the one that would have to watch for suspicious behavior. After all, a dog didn't understand humans, or their actions, so Ranulf would pass off as an innocent dog interested in the people he was traveling with.
"All right then, get in the back," the group's undisputed leader said, when he finished his whispering to the other member. There was some shifting of the gang's members as they attempted to make some room in the truck for the new load. Someone pushed the nerdy guy off.
"Hey!" the kid protested, trying to climb back into the truck, but he was held back by a few hands.
"Don't worry shortie, we'll come back for you. We just need some more room in the truck. Hang out in those buildings until we get back!"

Wahya watches as they rustle in the small truck until they respond to him. He nods, and starts to walk to the back of the truck until he sees the nerdy kid get thrown off. He stops as he looks at the kid trying to get back on the truck. Wahya narrows his eyes as he listens to the comments of the men toward the kid, he looks over into the cab of the truck toward the leader.
"You are going to leave him behind by his self...."
Wahya growls under his breath in announce, he was only a kid and did not deserve this, even for a human.
"Make room for him as well."

Someone opened his mouth to protest, until the leader shot him a stern look. Complaining wasn't going to get them anywhere, or anything. There was some murmured arguing going on, until they gave up. With a bit more shuffling around, they packed in together in the truck, thus opening up some more room, just enough for two extra people.
"If it pleases you..." the leader smirked.
The nerdy youngster would have thanked Wahya, if it wasn't for the look the others gave him. Instead, he climbed back into the truck without a second thought or word.
"Now can we go?"
Ranulf, in a pure dog fashion, trotted over to the truck, and beckoned for Wahya to follow with his expression, as if the dog vibe that he was portraying was impatient.

Wahya eyes glances to the men in the back as they argue to themselves, A bunch of rejects... a easy way to travel... guess we can deal with it. His brown eyes shifting back toward the leader.
"Yes we can go now."
Wahya looks to Ranulf and chuckles, "Alright I get the idea..." Wahya walks to the back of the truck and helps Ranulf into the truck and jumps in his self. He looks over to the kid and smirks with a slight wink, he looks back to Ranulf then to the golden sky.

The gang leader nodded, and the truck lurched forward, stirring up sand behind in it's wake. Ranulf grinning, showing his lupine teeth, as he sat in the back of the truck. How long was this going to take? Ranulf hoped it wouldn't take too long... He didn't want to play the part of the loyal pet of the human for long. It was demeaning and degrading; Ranulf didn't want to do this again.
As they drove out of the ruins of the buildings, Ranulf noticed an erie silence about the truck.. The calm before the storm, if you will. His canine senses picked up some foreboding scent, but from where? It was all around, and close. But there was nothing but sand for miles. So did that mean a traitor in the truck with them? Ranulf tense, but didn't let go of his happy-go-lucky dog attitude, no matter how hard it would get.
Then, out of the corner of his eyes, Ranulf saw a glint of silver, and with a resounding thud, something smashed into the back of Ranulf's head. As the wolf blacked out, he could only hope that Wahya wasn't knocked out too...

Wahya tensed as the truck started to move finally then turned and looked out into the distance, Hopefully the next town will have something interesting
Wahya who had been staring out into the distance, snapped to reality as he heard the thud. Quickly turning he noticed that Ranulf had been knocked out, "WHAT THE HELL!" Wahya quickly stands to his feet as he looks upon the men in the back. A growl started to roll out of the back of his throat as his eyes scanned each head in the back.
"WHO IN THE HELL DID THIS!?!?" Wahya fist was clenched tightly, he knew if they had already strike Ranulf, they would surely strike him for speaking out in front of them.
