He wheeled around as Sorrou appeared at the top of the stairs. "Yeah, I'm fine."

Amata looked up. Her eyes seemed empty as she looked at her rescuers. She didn't seem to believe her eyes, and she laid her head back down on her paws. She let out a soft sigh. Her breath reiked of sedatives.

Ai sighed, appearing human for once, and picked Amata up in her arms. Obviously the pup thought she was in some sort of dream. That meant they had to get her out fast. Ai looked around the room, trying to find some way out without walking upstairs. They would probably get shot or something if they went up there. She noticed a door to their right, and opened it, to find themselves outside. Good, a back exit.

Sorrou nodded to Daryl and went back down the stairs. The other females had already gone and left a door open, so she called up the stairwell: "Daryl, Ai found another exit!"

Amata was limp in Ai's hold. Seriously limp....if you picked up her paw, it would flop straight back down to the ground, no effort at all.

Ai turned a few corners, and ran down a few alleys, until she came to an empty house she had stayed in once. Setting Amata down on the old couch in the corner, Ai jumped up onto it, appearing as a wolf, and curled up around the pup, making sure she was warm. There was something seriously wrong with her, and Ai was franticly trying to find out what.

Daryl appeared at the top of the stairs, narrowly avoiding a knife which had been thrown at his head. He called down to Sorrou. "You go after them, I'll give this lot the run around and meet up with you later." Appearing human for the first time since the humans had grabbed Amata, he bolted out of the door, a bullet ricocheting off the wall next to his head. There were shouts of confusion from the building. "But, wasn't that a...did it just...is he really a?" Followed by shouts of, "It doesn't matter what he is, get him!" Running full tilt, Daryl ran in the opposite direction to that which Sorrou would run out of the door. Most of the men had left their weapons behind, they figured a young man could be brought down without guns. Wrong again. As one lunged at him, Daryl skipped lightly over the mans arms, stamping on them as he came down, then jumped again, feet landing on the top of a trash can, then leaping off, turning into an alley in midair, and knocking the bin down, tripping some of the men. As they continued to follow like hounds on a fox, one man broke ahead of the rest, running full tilt at Daryl. Stopping for a moment, Daryl swung out his leg, and his foot crashed into the side of the man's head with a sickening crack. Now, out of the five, only two remained. One had been wise enough to bring a knife with him. Suddenly the black wolf was back again, only visible under the street lights. The knife arced towards his already ripped open shoulder, but with a quick side step he dodged it, and continued to run. The men were now focused on the wolf at ground level, but nothing above him seemed to matter. A train crossing lay ahead of them, disused for years. Only one thing was not now rotting away. The barrier. It was so rusted it was stuck half way between being up and down, just at the height of a man's head. Easily fitting under it, Daryl continued to race ahead, keeping their eyes fixed on him. The man in front didn't notice the barrier. With a crack, his forehead slammed against it and he was instantly on the floor, out cold. The second spotted this and ducked under, eager to take down that dog himself. There was just one thing he had failed to notice. Now that there was just one man, the wolf was no longer running. He had turned around into a fighting stance. The man fell dead in ten seconds flat. Turning, Daryl pelted off to the area in town he knew the others must have gone to from the hunter building.

Ai had already gotten far ahead by the time Sorrou rushed downstairs, and in the dark she couldn't be seen, so Sorrou had to rely on her nose to get to the house Ai had found. She eventually reached it and approached the females. "Hey," she said softly, seeing that Amata was still weak and exhausted, "Is she all right?"

A second figure sprinted through the darkened street, the wound in his shoulder bloodied and still open. The raw muscle and bone beneath his skin was showing, the knife had wounded him so deeply. Gently nudging the door open with a slight creak, he slid through, closing it behind him with his rear paw. He walked over to the others, smiling grimly, and lying by the base of the couch.

Amatanuzzled her head deeper into Ai's warm fur. The pup had drifted off into a calm sleep, and already her fur seemed to look better. ooc: Yes. such a long wordy post.

"I don't know." Ai said, resting her head on her front paws. "She's asleep now, and looks a little better, so we'll see how she is when she wakes up." she added, letting out a small sigh. It wasn't really Ai's nature to be so gentle with other wolves. Usually she ran from them or attacked them. Never befriend them. She was acting odd indeed, but the company was nice to have for once.

"Aye," said Daryl, looking over Amata. "Sedatives. I've seen them before. I don't really know how they work, but she is definitely recovering. Thank god we managed to shake off those damned humans." He lay down again, wimpering silently as a sharp jolt ran through his wounded shoulder.

"Oh well," said Sorrou. "We should have some food ready for her when she wakes up. I would ask you to come, Daryl, but that's one nasty cut you've got there." She smirked, and exited the house, going down the alley in search of something edible in a dumpster.

Ai's ears perked up at the sound of Daryl's whimper. She gently got up, letting Amata lean against an old pillow that was on the couch, and jumped down by the wounded wolf. She looked at the wound carefully, and then began to lick it, trying to clean it out the best she could. They would need some bandages for it soon. They would have to go out and look for some. Or maybe they could use a cloth...

"Ow.....thanks Ai. Darn knife went right down to the bone, must have sliced a muscle." He rested his head on his paws wearily.
