"Fine!" laughed Satika. After a while, she began to wonder about that water source they were looking for the previous day. "So, where exactly is this water place?"

"Oasis" Again with his short answers. He stopped suddenly, nose stretching into the sky. He siffed as he eyes remained closed. His orange plet melted in with the soft hues of the sand. If it weren't for the black pastched, he's be hard to spot. He changed directions and began racing west.

"Um... okay," said Satika and ran after him. Of course, he was much faster, but she was in a lot better shape than she had been when they first met. At least this time she could still see him to follow him.

Shikon finally stopped at what looked like an empty barren desert. The ground was slightly more study, but really that was it. His eyes scanned the area, and his nose sniffed the air. Yes, the water was here. A tumbleweed whipped by, as he stood in the empty space.

"Well, were we going the wr-" Satika stopped herself before she said anything Shikon might not like. Of course they were going the right way. But what was there to drink here?

Shikon sniffed the ground, before he began digging...in the desert...under the heat. Oh yes, talk about over excertion. He began to pant between the heat and the work. He dug a pretty deep hole before he finally stopped, and laid down. After a quick second break, he got back up and reared up on his two back paws. He brought all his power down onto the hole. A crack could be heard right before a splash. Water began to bubble up from the hole.

"Water! No way!" Satika yelled in delight, but she restrained herself from drinking any. Shikon would want some, and anyways, he was the one who found it, and dug the hole.

Shikon stepped away from the dirt water, solet Satika drink. "Hurry up" He barked as he looked off into the distance. This place may have had water, but it offered no protection. Shikon couldn't make out a single rock or pebble for miles around.

Satika slurped up all she could quickly, then withdrew from the hole, water dripping from her chin. She giggled. "Where to next, Shikon?" she asked.

Shikon padded over to Satika, then dipped his own head into the water, lapping water slowly. When he finally raised his head, he had not a single stray drip of water. His nose went to the sky, and he let out a long lonely howl. His ears perked as he waited for a reply. If felt like forever before he finally heard something. Way off in the distance...he knew how to get out of the desert now.

Satika was quietly humming as Shikon took his time to drink. When he howled, and they heard the reply, she was amazed. "Shikon... that wasn't...?" she asked incredulously.

"What?" He barked out, not really curious at what she had to say. He continued after the sounds though, a good steady pace.

"I don't know," she said coolly. "I was hoping you would tell me what that sound was!"

"a wolf" he answered, giving her a look that said are you that stupid? He sniffed the air. It smelt like they were getting close to not-desert

Satika grinned. I knew it! she thought. She caught a scent of something alive... not like anything they had found here. Was it plant life maybe?
