Here on this lone cliff, a scent lingers in the air. It is a wonderful scent, bathed in the aroma of flowers. Beautiful white flowers. A howl echoes suddenly through the crisp night. It's distant, but it's obvious where it came from....Paradise.

A lone, canine form ran through the gathering night. His silky black fur was still slightly smattered with blood, his shoulder a dark reddish brown where his old knife wound had re-opened under the strain of running. He knew not how many of his friends would be following the call, but all he knew was that he had to. Paradise was beckoning, and he must follow. Amber eyes were set unblinking on that crowning peak, the cliff from which the summons came. Paws padded silently over the grass, breath coming out in almost silent breaths. The first wolf was on his way to the Lunar Cliffs.

ooc: just so you know, that call can be heard nearly every night. This rp should involve many NPC wolves, jealousy, anger, stubbourness, et cetera. ooh drama. I shall let anyone else who wants to post do so before I start this thread. NOTE: this will be a prequel to a major plot twisting thread.

Ooc: Ok. Part of my little plan. Daryl's gonna go a little....mad. Btw, do you mean we should be rping other characters than our regular ones?

ooc: yeah, you can always bring in new characters, but just know that mods can also control them, and if you say so, so can other members. Also, they don't get the same protection as your personal characters and can be killed.

The beautiful whisping howl echoed past the cliff, even stretching as far as the tundras for a brief second. The song was a call from paradise, a voice of hope.

As Sorrou continued to run as far away from the town as she could get, she heard the call and her ears shot up instantly. She was sure she didn't know who was howling, but it was eerily familiar all the same. After a second's hesitation, she headed towards the sound.

The moon was blocked by dense clouds. a long time, the song of paradise could be heard every night. It's beautiful tones and light hearted rythem was a happy one....but as years went by, the songchanged, and it no longer was howled every night. On the night of a clear full moon, it is heard the loudest, and many wolves who have studied the lunar cliff believe the journey to paradise has something to do with it.

Sorrou didn't completely believe in Paradise, but this opportunity to meet a wolf was just too good to pass up. Maybe this wolf had seen Daryl, or Amata, or maybe even Ai, whom Sorrou wasn't quite sure how she got separated from. But she could see the lunar cliffs in the near distance, and the sound must have been coming from there...

A second howl arose from the cliffs, as Daryl joined his voice with that of the disembodied being that gave the echoing call which had brought him there. Suddenly, he became aware of another being running to the cliffs. Another wolf. Wait, was that? No, it couldn't possibly be - wait, it is! He turned to face the oncoming wolf and called out, "Sorrou?"

Sorrou stopped instantly, but didn't look around. That was just her imagination. It sounded too much like... but she just had to look. Quickly, she glanced around, and her eyes fell on a familiar face. "Daryl!" Sorrou cried, smiling for the first time in what seemed like forever.

He lunged forward, racing at full speed towards her. Suddenly, things had got much better. Twice he had been seperated from the two different gangs he was travelling with, but now he had found Sorrou again. A single tear trickled down the side of his face as he got nearer. As he skidded to a halt in front of her, he gently nuzzled her once, then pulled back. "How did it go with the breakout?" He was of course talking about the attempt to free Ai from the dog fighting pits. He was wondering how Ai and Kosei had done, and whether Ai had been reunited with Amata, whom he had met again shortly afterwards.

Sorrou had a huge grin on her face, up until he had asked this question. "Well... Ai got out all right, and then it was just me and her. But she asked me where Amata was, and I'd totally forgot about her. She wasn't too happy with me, and we just sort of... separated. You're the first wolf I've seen since then! What's been going on?"

"I got caught up after I left the dealers. Another wolf got caught up with the dog sellers, and then that led to a whole lot more. And, in case you don't know already, Amata should be at the den. She wandered off to come look for us, but she bumped into me and I told her to go back to the den." For a moment he was lost for words, before coming out with the one thing he really felt, "It's brilliant to see you again."

Sorrou was distracted with news of Amata's whereabouts, and anyways she was awful at voicing her feelings, so she just said "Yeah... you mean Amata's been at the den the whole time? Should we go back, or... follow the howl?"
