Kosei continued to stare at the blank wall, before something took over him, and he let out a soft howl. It was oddly gentle for his dominant appearence. His pleaseing howl ended quickly, as he stopped to listen. No reply. However...his voice was heard by someone in the village....

Anio stood sudenly. "What are you doing? Don't howl! You'll attract the people!" She strode up to the window and looked out at the storm worredly. "Or worse. You'll bring more of your knid."

kosei ignored the halfbreed's concerns. The wind was too strong for anyone to hear him anyway. If he was truely curious, he'd ask what Anio was doing with humans, but honestly....he didn't care. Silence filled the room, for a brief second that the wind stopped. It was such a strange silence. As the wind returned it'sown howling, Kosei returned his head to his paws.

Anio narrowed her eyes at the wolf's silent indifference. He probably had a pack around somewhere out there and was signaling to them. She could barely control her anger around this one, but if more came, she wasn't sure if she could stand it. Anio sat back down quietly, watching the wolf. As soon as the storm cleared up, she would make him leave.

Kosei felt the halfbreed watching him, but he made nothing of it. His big eyes had just drifted closed when his ears suddenlyperked. He raised his head, and got on his paws. A cry again....except this one was a human. A human child. By the sounds of it, the kid was stuck out in the frozen storm!

Anio's eyes shot from the wolf to the window. There was someone out there, a kid by the sound of it. She looked back at the wolf and noticed that he had heard too. She could think of plenty of reasons why this wolf would like to find a helpless child in a snowstorm, but none of them good. Anio's heart ached in her chest when she thought of the little kid, alone in the storm, suddenly being found by a big brute of a wolf just like the one in front of her. She stood up, grabbing her coat from the hanger by the door. "Don't move, wolf." She growled, and stepped out into the cold.

Kosei's fur was frozen just from the draft of the open door. He shook it off and watched Anio go. The half breed was nuts...why risk her life for that of a human pup's? His head turned. The child's voice was fadeing fast....and far away.....

As soon as she stepped out into the cold, Anio could feel her body go numb. She wouldn't last long out in this weather, not even if she was used to this climate. She would have to find the kid and get back fast. She shut the door and trampled through the snow. The wind was icy, and battered at her bare human skin, but she refused to change. She would not need to acknowledge her darker half, even to save a human. She could do this as she was. She pushed onwards, listening carefully for the sound of the cry, and rushing ever faster to find the source.

ooc: just so it's clear, she's not a shapeshifter. being human is just an illusion. bic: The small child let out one last call, before collapseing in the snow. Luckily, the little boy was right near where Anio was, so she should be able to find him. Unluckily however, there was no time to get the boy to a home. The winds were picking up.

ooc: really? guess i forgot d: bic: Anio found the child- it was a little boy. She ran over to examine him. He was very cold, but still alive. That, at least, was good. She shouldered him and turned around. This wasn't good. It was too late to try to make it back, and she had already lost feeling in her paws and nose. She would barely make it to a safe place alone, but she could never make it with the boy. She shook the thickening snow off. Wait... The snow! Anio dropped the boy and immediately started to dig. If she could make a hollow to shelter in, then she might be able to save them both. When she was done, she dragged the boy into the hole, jumped in, and closed up the top. It was cold and dark, but at least she might be able to make enough body heat to survive. Anio sniffed the boy with concern. He didn't look like he was getting any better. She snuggled close to him and tried to cover him in her thick fur. He was still cold to the touch.

Suddenly something punched through the side of the wall. It was Kosei. He laid down next to the boy and looked at Anio. He was ready to defend himself, but he had a feeling the ice would've sapped away her energy. Besides....he was bigger, had more fur, and was warmer....there was a better chance of the boy survivieng with him there. ooc: oh, and don't think Kosei is being a matyr here X3

Anio's first reaction was to attack whatever it was that stormed in, but at the sight of the wolf, she repressed her urge. As much as she hated to admit it, he could help them both. "Close the hole quickly," She barked. "and help me get him warm." Anio wasn't usually the type to take command, but a child's life was at stake here, and she was determined to make sure that he would live through this, even if she didn't.

Kosei didn't have to close up the hole. The winds threw snow on it so fast, it was closed before he had to tak a step towards it. He layed beside the kid. Normally, in time like these, his pack would lay ontop of eachother...but they weren't small, frail, weak human pups. He knew he was too big for that. He looked at Anio. He still didn't understand why she defended humans so.

Anio sniffed the child. He seemed to be in better condition now, but he would need to stay at this temperature at least, to keep alive. "Can you hear me?" She nuzzled him. "Don't go to sleep now. You need to stay awake." Anio noticed the wolf staring at her, but ignored him. "When the snow stops, I'll get you a nice hot drink." She remembered her old master- her old freind. She missed him so much.

The little kid groaned. Kosei laid his head down, and huffed. His warm fur immediately caught the kid's attention, and the child got closer to the wolf's fur. Warmth. Kosei's fur went up a bit. He didn't like this situation....he'd put up with it for now....but as soon as the storm was over, he was out of there.
