Anio eyed the wolf suspiciously. He seemed so jumpy around such a small human. It was like he wasn't used to it. She laughed inwardly at that. Of course he was never around humans, he was a wild wolf. He would be too busy protecting his pack or finding paradise to care about people. Anio rested her head next to the boy. He could go off and do that for all she cared. She would find paradise someday too, but not until she found a way to save everyone-not just the wolves.

Kosei calmed down as time went by. He never felll back asleep, but he did lay his head down. After hours of wind, snow, and cold.....the storm finally ended. Kosei perked his ears. "it's silent" He grumbled. He looked at the walls of the little shelter. Surely they;d have trippled in depth thanks to the storm.....

Anio nodded, listening to the silence. Her limbs were stiff from the cold and the cramped space, but there was no room to stretch, so she just got up and started to dig away the snow. It was heavily packed with the new flakes from the storm but within minutes she was able to dig a hole big enough for her anyways. She stuck her nose out and smelled the crisp, white world. There were no birds of course, but the sky was a bleached and silky blue and the clouds wisped by high in the air. The new snow sparkled in the sun brilliantly and despite herself, Anio wanted to howl with joy at the beautiful day. Instead, she pulled her head back in the shelter and checked on the boy. He seemed to be much better than he was when she had found him, and she nudged him out of the small hole. He stumbled out uncertainly, but she was right next to him within seconds. "Let's get you home now." Anio smiled. She turned her head back to the wolf, and thought about thanking him, but thought better of it. She wasn't even sure why he had blundered out into the storm in the first place, but she was certain that it wasn't to help her. Why would a wolf do that?

Kosei had to dig a bit more at the hole before his massive body could fit through. Once he was out though, he shook off his pelt. People began to come out of their homes, from their windows. Their doors were blocked by snow. A mother raced over to the boy and crushed him in a hug. She kept thanking Anio over and over again. Kosei said, nor did nothing. Instead, he had walked away. A few kids were crowded around a massive print in the snow. They didn't understand what it was...that a wolf had been here. If the adults saw it however...

Anio looked down at the print. She saw her own, and the ones form the big wolf. She swiped them all away with a careless foot and looked back at the wolf as he left. Why did he come out into the snow storm? He couldn't have wanted to save the child, could he? She turned around to the frantic mother and smiled. "Thank you. It was no trouble, but I have to go now." She caught up to the wolf and matched his stride. "Why did you do that, wolf? You couldn't have wanted to help him so why did you do it?" Her voice was not unkind, but it was not gentle either. It was more like she could not stand it if he didn't answer, and quite frankly, she couldn't.

"I told you before. My buisness is my own" He said. But curiosity finally took ahold. "And why do you care so much for humans and their cubs?" He asked her, not slowing his pace as he marched through the snow. His roice was rough, but not in the least threatening. He however could care less if he recieved a direct answer or not.

Anio closed her eyes as she walked through the snow. "That's something you'll never understand, even if I explained it." She stopped walking alongside the big wolf. He was a wolf. He could never understand the warm feeling you get in your chest when a human petted you, spoke to you, told you they loved you. That was a pleasure only a dog could know. But she was also a wolf. She could feel the call of paradise, and the need to run free below the stars, as well as live in a cozy house with a person. Paradise. She needed to find it, study it, know it. Something came to her then, like a bolt of lightning, sparking something she had never thought of before. She had asked people what they know, but what about wolves? They, after all, were supposed to go there. They would surely know more about it then people. As much as she hated wolves, they knew things that she could never learn from a person. Anio started walking beside the big wolf again. "You're a dire wolf, aren't you? Your kind started all the rumors of paradise."

Koseo merely nodded his big head, without turning to look at the halfbreed. He knew all about paradise. The only thing was...he wasn't following the call to paradise....just his instincts to find his pack. "And you. Your a halfbreed wolf-dog. you have a place among human kind, so why does paradise interest you?" He asked.Curiousity wasn't in his voice in the least.

"I promised." She said simply. "So I'll find it." She looked at the big wolf. "Aren't you looking for it too?"

"....no" he mumbled as he copntinued to walk. "I'm not ready to go to paradise" he admitted.

Anio nodded absently. He might be a wolf, but she agreed with him on that. She understood more than he might think about not being ready. "So you have to do something first then. What is it?"

"That isn't your concern" he grumbled. Just when he starts to talk, he closes back up again. Getting this wolf to tell you his story is a feat yet to be witnessed. "Who did you promise?" He asked, half expecting to get a -that isn't YOUR concern- response.

Anio snapped out of her thoughts at the question and smiled slyly. "That's not how it works, wolf." She said with a hint of a laugh in her voice. "I tell you my story and you leave out yours? What kind of scientist would I be if I didn't get answers to my questions? I don't even know your name yet, for that matter." She nodded her head slightly. "I'm Anio, and you are?" She wasn't trying to be nice to him or anything. She just needed to know more about this strange wolf. Like she had said, Anio was a scientist, and it was her obligation to ask questions, for then, how would she learn anything if she didn't?

Kosei finally stopped, and looked at Anio. Seconds ticked by before he finally turned away. "....I'm Kosei" He said before he continued on his way. A strong wind blew his fur, and he looked magestic in the setting sun. ooc: hmm...strange pack we have here....wolf hater and the most wolfish wolf possible.....

ooc:yeah, isn't it great! XD
bic:"Pleased to meet you, Kosei." Anio lied, thinking she'd at least be polite. The sun was going down. That wasn't good. It got very cold at night here. She wondered how the big wolf, or Kosei, even got out here. Maybe he had a plan? If not, Anio had always been able to survive on her own. She wouldn't suddenly need any wolf's help to survive. "So where are you going?"
